Homes for the Future

New building regulations in England will ensure new homes produce 31% less carbon emissions compared to current standards.

The government has made plans for a 31% reduction in new home carbon emission from June 2022. Housebuilders will be required to apply these new regulations to all new homes built in the UK. To meet the new CO₂ emission reduction targets, solar PV will be the technology of choice, with most new homes needing 2-2.5kWp of solar. Photon Energy is a leading independent installer of solar PV, battery storage systems, and EV charging.

Over the last 15 years, we have worked with most of the UK’s major housebuilders, installing top-quality solar PV and battery storage systems in thousands of new homes. During this time we have established strong partnerships with market-leading technology suppliers, giving us unrivalled knowledge and experience in the systems we install.

Investing in Homes for the Future

Building regulations work by defining a specification for a National Dwelling. From June 2022, Housebuilders must ensure the energy efficiency of homes equals or exceeds the performance of the National House specification. We believe solar power is the best solution to ensure homes meet the new building regulations.

A 2.6kWp (8 panel) PV system would dramatically offset the total carbon emissions from a two floor 85² house and help cut energy bills for homeowners. The new standards will not only improve energy efficiency of existing homes but will also ensure new homes are fit for the future, by reducing emissions by at least 75%.

At Photon Energy, we are proud to be partnered with many pioneering developers in the renewable energy sector.

Our long-standing relationship with Viridian Solar helps us to deliver solar photovoltaic installations to the highest standard. Viridian Clearline Fusion panels, as seen on the innovative Parc Eirin project, are both discreet and efficient, making them the perfect energy generating option for new build houses.

We work with Schneider, NewMotion, Zappi and BP Chargemaster to install solar-powered EV Charging systems. Using renewable energy to power electric vehicles raises the standard for eco-friendly designs and provides the cleanest energy solutions possible.

We are also partnered with Tesla Energy, Sonnen and Huawei, who provide battery storage systems that help homeowners get the most out of their PV. By storing any unused electricity to be used at a later date, battery packs are a simple, effective way to cut energy bills.
