Apetito

Photon Energy installed a 170 kWp PV system on Apetito's main production site and pie shed working alongside Szyzgy Renewables. Apetito are the main providers of "meals on wheels" to local authorities.

The PV system consists of 666x Trina 255 monocrystalline PV modules connected to ABB Power One Trio inverters that were mounted in the plant rooms in order to minimise DC cable run. The modules were mounted on the pitched trapezoidal roofs of the Pie Shed and the Main Production Site.

Apetito asked Szyzgy Renewables to run the tender process to find a PV company that could deliver the installation to specific timescales and with quality assurances.

Apetito’s production facility is their core business premises and was fully operational throughout the installation process. Photon Energy had to work closely with Apetito especially during the erection of the scaffold to ensure no access was blocked at any time as this would pose a serious problem to their operations.

Photon Energy had a specific brief: Tier 1 products, to guarantee a minimum performance warranty and to provide a minimum 10 year manufacturer’s warranty. The installation had to be completed in 3 weeks to meet Szyzgy’s project timescales.

Photon Energy completed the project on time, on budget and with the panels producing 8% more electricity generation than expected over the course of the year.
