Our Team
The Photon Energy team has over 50 years' experience of the renewable energy industry between them. Photon Energy was established by the four company directors: Lucy Aitchison, Jonathan Bates, Michael Holmes and Rolf Oldach.
Lucy Aitchison is a Technical Manager at Photon Energy. Lucy has worked in the renewable energy industry for nearly 10 years. During that time, she has managed the installation of almost 500 kWp of PV systems and been involved in numerous wind turbine installations. She has knowledge of a range of renewable energy Technologies → and her expertise also includes performance analysis, system testing and feasibility studies.
Jonathan Bates is the General Manager at Photon Energy. Jonathan has worked in the renewable energy industry since 1994. He has worked on the technical design and performance analysis of renewable energy systems both in the UK and overseas. Jonathan also served as an elected member of the Board of the British Photovoltaic Trade Association, PV-UK from September 2002 until its merger with the REA in March 2006. He is currently a member of the PV Working Group for the BRE Micro-generation Certification Scheme.
Michael Holmes is the Installations Manager at Photon Energy. Michael has worked in the renewable energy industry since 1999. Michael has installed over 500 kWp of solar PV systems and some 50 kW of wind turbines. Michael has completed a full electrical apprenticeship and is Photon Energy’s Qualifying Manager for NICEIC. He has completed the SMSTS Heath and Safety training course and completed the Proven Energy wind turbine and the Redland roof system installers’ courses.
Rolf Oldach is a Technical Manager at Photon Energy. Rolf has 16 years’ technical experience of renewable energy systems and their implementation. He has worked extensively on all aspects of PV, wind energy and solar water heating projects both in the UK and overseas. He has experience in system design, installation, trouble shooting and commissioning as well as testing and assessment of systems and components. His expertise includes grid-connected and off-grid PV and wind power systems, building-integrated PV/wind, hybrid power systems, solar water heating and performance monitoring and analysis.
