Renewable Energy Systems for Businesses

Businesses have to date missed out on the installation of renewable energy technologies as there have been no support mechanisms which businesses have been able to take advantage of: capital grants were available for the public sector and the domestic market only.  The introduction of the feed-in-tariff in April 2010 has completely changed the financial implications of investing in renewable energy technologies and is available to both the private and public sector as well as to the domestic market.

Solar PV is particularly well-suited to both small and large businesses: the technology is completely modular – the size of the system being governed only by affordability and space. We can design solar PV systems for premises such as large office buildings, supermarkets and distribution centres, whilst our Suntricity™ solar PV systems are ideally suited to small businesses.

Small wind turbines will also benefit significantly from the tariffs, particularly when sited in locations with above-average wind speeds. Generally speaking these will be rural or coastal areas rather than urban or semi-urban areas of the country.
